Slumberest Sleep Products Barbados Limited, "The Premier Bedding Manufacturer" in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean started operations in 1962 at Gazettes Industrial Park, St. Michael, with assistance from the Industrial Development Corporation now called the Barbados Industrial Development Corporation. (BIDC)
Today the company operates from a 60,000 sq.ft. facility on 10 acres of land at Lowland, Christ Church, and has a work force of 55 employees.
It has the largest foam factory in the Eastern Caribbean, and also produces its own coil springs. The Deep Sleeper and Slumberpedic are two of it's own brand spring filled mattresses. The company services all leading stores and hotels in Barbados and surrounding islands.
In 1993, SLUMBEREST SLEEP PRODUCTS signed an agreement to manufacture under licence, one of the leading brands of mattresses in United States "RESTONIC".
Restonic was established in the USA in 1938, and is among the top five Manufacturers in the world. Restonic, the mattress with the "MARVELOUS MIDDLE", is also available at all leading stores in Barbados. The company now exports to Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Antigua, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, Dominica, St. Lucia Grenada and the French departments of Martinique and Guadeloupe in the island chain and Belize in Central America.
